Perth Wedding Photography – Choosing The Right Flowers For Your Wedding Day. Part 1   by Natalie DeLara

There are a lot of choices to think about for your wedding day. When and where it’ll take place, what sort of wedding photographs you want, what you’ll both wear, and so on. Flowers are another consideration that can really add to the beauty of the day. Your choice of flower and how many you require will determine the final cost.

Will you have real or artificial flowers? What colour flowers will you choose? How much will you pay and do you want only bouquets or church and table decorations as well? What about your bouquet? Here are some things to consider:

Wedding Flower Costs

Your wedding budget will dictate a lot of things, like how much you can spend on food and décor, what sort of wedding photographic services you’ll purchase, what kind of honeymoon is arranged, and so forth. You could spend a few hundred dollars on wedding flowers or you could spend thousands.

If you’re funding your wedding on a tight budget, you might opt for a combination of real and high quality artificial flowers, or local and season flowers. Brides and grooms with severe allergies might also opt for artificial flowers or flowers with less of an impact on allergy sufferers. Regardless, it’s a good idea that you meet with a florist who will give you options based on your wedding colours, budget, and based on what’s in season.

Integration of flowers with the overall design and theme for your wedding is something most brides think about. Flowers in the church, on the reception tables, a floral covered wedding pergola that could be brought from the wedding ceremony to the reception, and other ways of integrating flowers are worth careful consideration. Brides and bridesmaids may even have flowers in their hair. Flower colours can tie in very well with the overall colour scheme of the day.

Florists who are specialised in weddings will often offer services that include setting up and clearing away the flowers and could include rental of vases, pew bows, pergolas or arches, and other floral accessories. If you aren’t sure about which wedding florist to use, talk to some of your other wedding service providers, such as your wedding photographer, caterer, or someone at your reception venue.

There’s no doubt that flowers add a special ambience to a wedding day and little something extra to your exclusive wedding photographs.

If you’re in the throws of organising flowers for your wedding day keep an eye out for Part 2 of Choosing the Right Flowers for Your Wedding Day. We’ll be discussing bouquet sizes and the symbolism of flowers.
